The ELAC Music Department provides a rich, intensive, and supportive environment for students pursuing Commercial Music certifications and/or an AA or AA-T music degree. The ELAC Music Department provides a comprehensive curriculum for the student who aspires to become a professional musician; who plans to enter the teaching profession; for whom music is a part of a general education; or intends t
o pursue an advanced degree in music. These lessons, taught by prominent professional musicians, help foster a student's musical and technical development on their chosen instrument or voice. These lessons are augmented by student participation in weekly performance workshops that provide an opportunity to improve and enhance public performance skills. Participation in one of our performance ensembles is also an integral part of the program. The goal of the Applied Music Program is to help students improve individual performance skills and musicianship, as well as learn how to work within a larger ensemble. Our distinguished faculty brings a depth of knowledge and experience to our students. Many are world-class performers and pedagogues, performing on the international concert stage, as well as being active in numerous music organizations as established teachers and adjudicators. Our new S-2 music building houses smart classrooms, a state-of-the-art recording studio, and a beautiful 350-seat recital hall, all of which helps our dedicated faculty provide an exceptional comprehensive curriculum for the music student.
