The Montclair Art Museum (MAM) boasts a renowned collection of American and Native American art that uniquely highlights art-making in the United States over the last 300 years. Timed tickets are available online and must be reserved before your visit. MAM is operating at a significantly reduced capacity, so while same-day ticket reservations are allowed, availability may be limited. UPDATED COVID-19 SAFETY POLICY
The Montclair Art Museum’s COVID Policy has been adjusted to follow safety guidelines based on CDC recommendations.

-The Museum requires all visitors age 12 and older to provide proof of vaccination against Covid-19 or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the day of your visit or attendance of an event. Proof of vaccination may include CDC Vaccination Card (or photo) or a digital immunization app.
-Masks are required for all visitors age 2 and older. Enrollment for "Introduction to Drawing," and "Observation and Technique," with Yanni Fotiadis is still open! Secure your seat while time remains!

In, "Introduction to Drawing," learn the fundamentals of drawing while Yanni guides you through how to use line, shape, shading, and perspective to render an image. Working primarily in pencil on paper, class projects are designed to guide you in developing drawing skills while also encouraging personal style and creativity. The class will visit MAM’s galleries to be inspired by artworks on view. All skill levels are welcome.

Or, in "Observation and Technique," strengthen your observation, rendering, and composition skills through focused drawing exercises and provide prompts as you work from live models, still life arrangements, and reference photos of your choice. Throughout the course, you’ll build confidence and develop the technical skills needed to bring your creative ideas to life in a rigorous, supportive, and fun environment. The class will visit MAM’s galleries to be inspired by artworks on view.

The vision of the Ben F. Jones Scholarship is for students with financial need to have transformative experiences through exposure to fine art and opportunities to advance their skills, explore their creative voice, build portfolios and personal connections in the arts, and increase confidence and self-esteem.

The Ben F. Jones Scholarship is dedicated to promoting diversity in the arts. It is available for high school students through age 20 to take teen (ages 13–17) or adult (ages 18+) MAM School of Art classes or workshops. The scholarship covers tuition and art supplies needed for the class. Award recipients receive a one-year membership to the museum.
