I picked up my first chainsaw in 2022.

I decided to get away from the standard way of carving trees and look at how the shape and branches actually occur in nature along with working on my own style. Plus I wanted to use only chainsaws and no power tools for a raw finish. I think I’ll stick with this vibe.

This is Tanja Hudson's first time to the Rendezvous! She began carving in 2022 when she needed a way to memorialize her favorite tree after her husband cut it down. Tanja loves training horses, and she'd like to be known for her horse carvings. Recently, she did a Pegasus that she says was a lot of work, but so rewarding. When she's not carving, you'll find her doing hair and makeup for weddings and events.
