SKIN FX TATTOO STUDIO POLICIES
MINORS:
State regulations establish that any person receiving tattoo or piercing services that is under the age of 18 years old be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and present a birth certificate. Expired or severely damaged IDs will not be accepted. The parent’s name must also be listed on the birth certificate. If the minor is accompanied by a legal gua
rdian instead of a birth parent, court documents must also be presented that list the names of both the guardian and the minor, and must be signed by an authority figure along with their seal. It is preferred that these papers have been filed in the court system. Unless they have legally adopted the minor or have court-confirmed custody, step-parents, grand parents, or other family members are not considered legal guardians, even though the minor may reside with them. It is strongly suggested that parents and guardians take their child to the DMV and get a state issued Identification Card if they do not already have a Driver’s License or a Learner’s Permit. The Studio reserves the right to refuse to provide services to any person or persons that do not meet these requirements. PIERCINGS:
IMPORTANT NOTES ON MINOR PIERCINGS: Lobes – We will not pierce infant lobes or any child under the age of 4 or 5 years old. At any age under 18, especially 4-14, the piercer will require a face-to-face chat with the child to determine if they are able to give consent before determining if she will do the piercing. The Studio and Piercer reserve the right to refuse to pierce anyone. QUOTES & APPOINTMENTS:
Requests for quotes and/or appointments are made via Facebook Messenger. If you do not have Facebook, you can call the shop to request a tattoo consultation appointment to get a quote and schedule an appointment for the work. TATTOOS:
When a request for a tattoo quote is sent, we need the following information: Which artist, What you want, Where you want to put it, and How big you want it. It is helpful if you send any reference pictures as well. Quotes are done at the end of the evening (after closing) when the Scheduler sits down with the Artists. Requests will be answered either shortly after, or the next working day. After receiving your quote, if you are wanting to make an appointment, let the Scheduler know you are ready and provide your availability, such as if you are available during the week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), or if you are only available during the evenings (after 7pm) or weekends. This will help speed the process along. The Studio and its Artists reserve the right to refuse to do any artwork or service at any time, and reserve the right to refuse to work on any client where they feel that it is unsafe to do so. DEPOSITS:
All tattoo appointments will require a nonrefundable deposit to confirm the appointment being booked. The Scheduler determines the amount of deposit required. Any offer of an appointment made either in person, via text, telephone or Facebook Messenger is NOT confirmed until the deposit has been received. Deposits are NONREFUNDABLE. If you fail to show for your appointment, your deposit will be forfeited. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you are considered a No Show. It will then be up to the artist if they want to do the work based on the amount of time left in your appointment spot. If you need to reschedule, we request that you give us a minimum of 48 hours notice. Failure to give sufficient notice will forfeit your deposit and consider you a no-show. After 2 no-show appointments, your deposit will be a minimum of one-half the quoted price of the work scheduled and must be paid before an appointment is confirmed. VALID IDENTIFICATION:
Each client must have a VALID PHOTO ID to receive services. Valid means that the ID has a recognizable photograph, is not broken or severely damaged, shows no signs of tampering, and is not expired. We will accept your ID on LAWallet. For minors, it is recommended that they at least have a State issued Identification Card. However, a school issued photo ID may be acceptable provided it has the minor’s name (as it is on their Birth Certificate), a photo, and was issued for the current school year. If you have any questions about whether or not what you have is acceptable, feel free to send photographs of what you have to the shop Facebook Messenger and we will review it prior to your appointment. The Studio and its management reserve the right to refuse to accept any forms of identification as valid at their discretion. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT THE SHOP WITH ANY QUESTIONS/CONCERNS/THOUGHTS ON THIS.
