Yesterday marked a significant milestone with the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the expansion of the Arthur Lesow Community Center! This event was attended by hundreds of community members, leaders and of course the kids. Our new building serves as a beacon for learning, love, music, unity, laughter and positivity while giving space to the kids for creative expression and collaboration. The event featured tours of the facility and a community art project in the creative lab, showcasing the community's commitment to our shared goals. Last night's art class with Ms. Amy was our final night of class for the school year at the Arthur Lesow Community Center. The kids concluded with outstanding artwork, featuring exquisite canvas pieces and painted pottery. These creative works will be showcased for sale at upcoming events. This final class attendance was exceptional and the kids were having a great time! We ended the night with Tiffany's pizza and refreshments. Art with Ms Amy at the Arthur Lesow Community Center this past Tuesday was painted, pottery night. The kids painted pottery to sell for our ribbon cutting on June 1st and the painted vases came out beautifully. We finished the night with chicken and potato fingers from HiLite. Last night's Art class was another success! The "Cinco De Mayo" celebration featured a Pictionary competition where everyone had the opportunity to showcase their artistic skills. The art students enjoyed subs from Subway, chips, soft drinks, cupcakes and finished the class with the opening of a Pinata! Last night's class was "Hands Together" initiative representing unity, connection and prayer. This collaboration will be further celebrated at the ALCC's ribbon cutting event with our guests. The finalized artwork will be exhibited at the Arthur Lesow Community Center in June. The art students also produced enchanting flower art during the class. Lats night's art class with Ms. Amy was filled with activity! The art students wrapped up submissions for the community art contest and completed our collaborative "Law Day" poster. What was really cool, was adding thumbprints to Ms Mia's college graduation cap, allowing each student to make their mark. We concluded with Tiffany's Pizza and drink while Ms. Faye brought candy for the helpers that cleaned after class.
