🏳️‍🌈 On October 11, 1987, over half a million people marched for q***r rights in Washington, D.C., and the event resulted in the founding of several LGBTQ organizations.
🏳️‍🌈 The momentum continued over the following year, and LGBTQ activists Rob Eichberg and Jean O'Leary created National Coming Out Day on the march's first anniversary to celebrate q***r identities and work to decrease stigma and homophobia.

You know it's important to vote, but are you prepared? Join us for a casual Candidate Meetup on Sun, Oct 11 where you can chat with candidates who will be on your ballot. Ask them questions and let them know what's important to you. Make sure you are empowered with the knowledge to make an informed decision at the polls!

✨ This event is free, no appointment needed, just drop-in between 1-3pm at the Indian Trail Town Hall

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ LGBTQ History Month is an annual celebration of the history, achievements, and civil rights milestones of le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, and q***r people worldwide. Observed in October in the U.S., Canada, and several other nations, it coincides with National Coming Out Day (October 11) and the historic 1979 and 1987 Marches on Washington for gay and le***an rights.
🌟 The purpose is to provide learning resources and biographies highlighting historical and modern LGBTQ+ icons, build visibility, honor unsung pioneers, and promote broader civil rights awareness. 💖
Each year, Equality Forum selects 31 icons to highlight. Check out the list for 2026 and revisit the icons of earlier years at lgbthistorymonth.com

This is a casual, drop-in event designed to connect our community with information, guidance, and practical help for some of those important life things that are incredibly easy to keep putting off.

Attorneys will be available to provide limited guidance, answer general questions, help with documents, and connect you with additional resources. Topics may include:
