Did you know that Monroe County is home to a summertime lavender festival? Fields of purple, hometown charm, and unforgettable summer memories. 💜Lavender Lane Farm in Milan held their 9th annual Harvest Festival this past weekend filled with blooming plants, "u pick" opportunities, lavendar lemonade, and more! A great look at one of the many year-round festivals that happen right here in Monroe County.

If you're bummed you missed the festival, the Lavender Lane Farm will be open the rest of the month and their store, Lavender Lane On Main, is open year-round! AND

Step back in time at River Raisin National Battlefield Park!

Ever wonder what it was like for the citizen soldiers of the frontier? Come out for our cornstalk militia living history event and meet the everyday people who answered the call to arms during the War of 1812—armed with everything from muskets and squirrel rifles to hay forks and cornstalks.

Get a firsthand look at history in action with live flintlock musket demonstrations throughout the day!

Yesterday, Monroe County joined communities across the country in celebrating the 250th anniversary of the first public reading of the of the Declaration of Independence! Thank you to the City, staff, sponsors, and volunteers that put on all the events yesterday during Monroe's Hometown Heritage Event! 👏
