Check out this beautiful crochet work with my naturally dyed cotton yarn!!

I’m starting my day crocheting outside with the beautiful cotton yarn I got from Spindle and Spoon, grown and milled in the US. Aleatha naturally dyed this cotton yarn with cosmos and weld. It will become the perfect evening cover up for the summer.

This summer, a small collection of my handwoven and handspun work will be part of the Smithsonian Folklife Marketplace, and I still can’t quite believe it.

I sent handwoven infinity scarves, zipper bags, and handspun earrings made with fibers deeply connected to Louisiana — including handspun Acadian Brown Cotton, a naturally colored cotton with Louisiana roots going back 250+ years.

As someone who cares deeply about preserving and celebrating my local fiber traditions, it feels incredibly meaningful to see Louisiana-grown cotton and my own work represented in this way.

Thank you to the Smithsonian, and to all who have supported and encouraged me!
