The artists of Sugar Gallery through the years are thankful for the amazing community and support throughout the years. These past two years have been different for everyone, and we all have had positive changes in our lives that lead us to move on and allow new artists move in. We are excited to see what wonderful things develop in this grand space. Many of the artists are still active and will be around. Harp Strings Jewelry will move out of state and we will miss our Lisa.

Mark your calendars for the first Thursday of every even numbered month for the Downtown Art Crawls, still going strong thanks to the fabulous community support!! ❤️❤️

Sugar Gallery is happy to announce the addition of Brandy Williams as a resident artist. Brandy, a self taught artist, has always been fascinated with creating and designing and intrigued by all things art related. She describes herself as a multi-directional artist who likes to take bits a pieces of different styles and techniques of painting and press them together and see what it creates.

Brandy's acrylic and charcoal paintings for the December crawl will include Louisiana landscapes as well as local cityscapes.

We are excited to have Brandy join us.

Sugar Gallery is getting ready for Thursday night’s Downtown Gallery Crawl. The theme for the show is “Vignette”. In literature, a vignette is a short scene that captures a single moment or a defining detail about a character, idea, or other element of the story. Sugar Gallery's guest artist is Brandy Jo Williams whose acrylic and charcoal mixed media paintings include Louisiana wildlife and botanicals which capture moments of her surroundings like a visual vignette. A few highlights from Sugar’s talented resident artists include Stacy Medaries' new abstract recycled art pieces; Douglas Breckenridge with a "Christmas in August"; antique button jewelry from Lisa with Harpstrings Jewelry; Melanie Douthit with Louisiana watercolor and acrylic scenes, Scott Stone's newest abstract paintings; and wildlife photography by local legend Burg Ransom. You are in for a treat at Sugar Gallery where there's always something sweet.
