Well, it is a beautiful day-- the sun is shining brightly, humidity is low, birds are singing. We are warm and dry and the house is fully intact. Power came back on for us last night. Water infrastructure is 85% destroyed and restoration of service is being spoken of in terms of weeks, not days. Our neighbor has a huge cistern which we have access to for buckets of water to flush with. No wifi (am standing outside the neighborhood fire station getting their signal). Cell service is very intermittent. Gas stations are reopening as are some grocery stores. Transactions are mostly cash only. Of course, as you have likely heard, there has been substantial loss of life and catastrophic levels of property damage and loss. Devastating. So all things equal we are very blessed.
