🔥 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 🔥
‼️READ FOR BEST EXPERIENCE‼️
It almost SHOW DAY with our friends at BLM Bull and Rodeo Company! Thank you to Greg Carter of Carter's Heating & Cooling for sponsoring this event! Here are some answers to FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Are tickets available at the gate?
🔥ABSOLUTELY! Tickets are cash ONLY at the gate, FYI. You may still buy them online if you would like to use a credit card, but you can save the processing fees with cash at the gate! All discounts have expired.
When & where?
🔥Saturday, September 5, at 15772 Moneta Road. We will open the gates at 4pm. Mini bulls and will begin around 6pm and usually last 30-45 minutes. The professional riders will be up around 7! The fun will go until 9ish. Please do not try to enter before 4pm to allow us to set up!
What are seating options?
🔥In short, you can bring a chair, rent a chair, or sit in the bleachers! Our bleachers will seat upwards of 1000 people but many folks will elect to bring chairs to sit around the ring or relax on our grassy hillside which allows “stadium seating.” VIP ticket holders have a chair provided ringside.
What alcoholic drinks are available?
🔥 As always, we will have all 34 of our award winning wines, each intentionally different so we are able to please just about any human willing to try them! We also have our famous wine slushies, sangria, and Bold Rock in various flavors such as premium, draft, blackberry, apple, etc.
Will you have beer?
🔥 Beer lovers rejoice…YES! We will have BEER at this event, as well as our October 17 rodeo! We typically have 4ish different types of commercially available canned beer.
We can I NOT bring?
🔥For all our big events, we do not allow outside food, drinks, cups, or coolers.
Can I bring my pet?
🔥No—There are no pets allowed at our big events for the safety and enjoyment of everyone.
Is there a clear bag policy?
🔥 YES! At the request of our security team, all of our events now have a clear bag policy in effect. If you do not have a clear bag, we will have them for sale at the gate for $10 as a courtesy to our guests (and no, this is not profitable—we have thousands in inventory and profit $2/bag)
How do I sign my child up for mutton busting?
🔥Kids must be 60 pounds or less and you can register onsite—first come, first serve. Find the sheep and go sign up when you arrive. Do this early because it will almost certainly fill quickly!
I do not want to carry my chair in and do not want to sit in the bleachers. Is there another option?
🔥 Yes! We do RENT chairs for this event for those who want to sit on the hillside but do not want to bring chairs. Rental chairs should be available at the entry gate and also at the wine tent!
Are there shirts available?
🔥 Yes, we will have our popular Wind Vineyards Rodeo shirts for sale at this event, as well as other Wind Vineyards merchandise and Walking Tall Monster Truck toys!
Can I bring a canopy/tent/umbrella?
🔥Yes, BUT they must be set up in the rear behind other guests. Tents, umbrellas, and canopies must not hinder the view of other attendees. There will be limited spots to set up that also maintain good visibility since we have a plethora of VIP tents that sit on the crest of the hill!
Will you have your extraordinarily popular JUMP PAD out?
🔥 Yes! Our enormous jump pad should be available for those young in age AND those young at heart!
Is there a fee to park?
🔥Yes, we are charging $10, which helps offset our parking staff costs and goes to support local charitable organizations.
Is this like the other rodeos I see advertised various places around the state?
🔥NO!!! Unlike many other events, this rodeo is a true, SEBRA Bull Riding & Barrel Racing sanctioned event with high level professional riders from across the country and around the WORLD! We invest a lot of money into providing the BEST rodeo available! This is not amateur folks putting on a show riding a cow. This is the “Major Leagues” of rodeo with more pro riders than you can find at most any other event in Virginia!
Do you have ice buckets?
🔥 If you wish to have a bucket of ice for your bottle of wine or canned drinks, they will be for sale at the wine tent!
What events are offered?
🔥We have mini bulls, mutton busting, barrel racing, and pro bull riding. We focus on the heart & soul of a rodeo—pro bull riding—as opposed to having a sampling of many different events.
What is the cost to ride Grape Crusher Monster Ride Truck?
🔥Grape Crusher is always one of our most popular attractions at all events! Rides are $15 cash or $17 with card. Purchase your tickets at the Wind Vineyards merchandise and wine tents OR at the gate when you enter the event!
Do I need to bring cash?
🔥If possible, YES! We do accept cards and believe most all third party vendors so as well. However, if lines start to form we will have a “cash only” line that will provide faster service and get you back to the show quickly! Cash transactions are markedly faster than credit cards so keep lines moving.
Will there be long lines?
🔥 Traditionally at our rodeo lines for wine do get backed up a bit in the 530-630 time frame. Get your drinks outside of this time to avoid the mad rush!
What is your next event?
🔥 Next week, September 12/13 come see us for the return of MONSTER TRUCKS! Come watch world class drivers and trucks from television out on the biggest, high flying show you can find!
“Why aren’t you answering the phone?”
🔥We do our absolute very best to answer every phone call and even return all missed calls we have. However, especially within 24 hours of our big events the number of calls, emails, texts, messages, etc we get is astronomical! We plan to do a LIVE VIDEO on Facebook explaining details and showing our set up and will likely do it again on show day! Putting questions in the comments of that video or this FAQ post is likely your easiest way to get answers. We do ask that you read our posts & watch the videos to set proper expectations and answer questions to allow for the best experience!
Anything else i should know?
🔥We are a FARM WINERY and this is an AGRITOURISM EVENT. There are inherent dangers on a farm that could result in injury or death. Under Virginia law, there is no liability for the owners, promoters, or participants as a result of your coming to our farm to participate in this agritourism event. YOU ACCEPT ALL RISK by buying a ticket and attending! Signs displaying the Virginia law regarding this are properly displayed on the large tree directly facing you as you enter the driveway as well as at the ticket gate and other places throughout the farm.
We sincerely appreciate your support and will see you later today! LET’S HAVE SOME FUN!!!
