Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play, GOD OF CARNAGE relates an evening in the lives of two couples in a Brooklyn neighborhood, who meet to discuss a playground incident. Alan and Annette’s son hit Michael and Veronica’s son in the face with a stick, resulting in two broken teeth. The four of them agree to discuss the incident civilly, but, as the night wears on and drinks are imbibed, the polite veneer breaks down. The couples initially spar against each other, but the men gang up on the women and the spouses switch sides as the fighting continues.

Veronica: She seems kind and polite at first. She wants peace and a fair apology for her son, Bruno, whose teeth were broken. She writes books about important social and global issues.

Michael: Veronica's husband. He works as a wholesaler. He tries to act easygoing and calm, but slowly loses his temper and shows his own aggressive side as the night goes on.

Alan: A busy corporate lawyer. He is rude, cynical, and never puts down his mobile phone. He cares very little about being polite or formal.

Annette Reille: Alan's wife, who works in wealth management. She tries to keep up a high-class look, but gets very stressed out and sick during the meeting.
No monologues are necessary; all roles will be cold reading auditions.

Shrek and the gang are now living their “Happily Ever After” thanks to the incredible outpouring of support from our families, friends, patrons, sponsors and communities.

Every summer, at The Emily McCabe Musical Theatre program, 4th-8th graders come together and create magic. They learn the show from auditions to production, with training from theatre professionals who pour their hearts into these 6 weeks.

These students finish the program having made friends from a variety of communities and take home a summer full of terrific memories. Each year the Board of Directors watch these incredible young actors make bonds and catch “the theater bug” and know that once again the future of theatre is growing in the hearts of these young actors.

Now, the show is over, and the actors are sad, but no worries because the stage is never empty for long. The Fall Young Performers Theatre for 4th-8th graders will be performing The Enchanted Bookshop under the direction of the incomparable Miss Marta.
