GCRC is holding auditions for our upcoming productions of SHE LOVES ME and URINETOWN! All roles are available for adults of all ethnicities.

SHE LOVES ME is about a charming case of mistaken identity set in a 1930s European perfumery. Feuding perfume clerks Amalia and Georg work together begrudgingly by day and write beautiful love letters to their “secret admirers” by night. Constantly bumping heads while on the job, the sparring coworkers can’t seem to find common ground. But little do they know, the anonymous pen pals they are both falling for happen to be each other! She Loves Me is a musical adaptation of the 1937 play Parfumerie. The story has also been adapted into the films The Shop Around the Corner (1949) and You’ve Got Mail (1998). It performs the first two weekends in December, 2026.

URINETOWN is set in the not-so-distant future, where a terrible water shortage and 20-year drought has led to a government ban on private toilets and a proliferation of paid public toilets. If the poor don’t obey the strict laws prohibiting free urination, they’ll be sent to the dreaded and mysterious “Urinetown.” After too long under the heel of the malevolent Caldwell B. Cladwell, the poor stage a revolt, led by a brave young hero, fighting tooth and nail for the freedom to p*e “wherever you like, whenever you like, for as long as you like, and with whomever you like.” A brilliant satire modeled off the plays of Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht, it performs the first two weekends in May, 2027.

SHOW SYNOPSIS: From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes the smash hit farce. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a co**se that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences! Part Monty Python, part Sherlock Holmes, this Olivier Award–winning comedy is a global phenomenon that’s guaranteed to leave you aching with laughter! We are seeking a company of 8-12 actors for this production.
