I have spent my life involved in musical theatre and dance productions, from amateur to professional, and last night’s opening performance of Ripon Christian High School’s The Little Mermaid absolutely blew me away.
The vocals were extraordinary. The costuming was impeccable (DETAILS). The sets and props were creative, captivating, and filled with thoughtful details. From the moment the show began, it was clear how much love, care, dedication, and time had gone into bringing this story to life. The entire production was stunning.
Although my sister and I had the privilege of helping choreograph this show and my daughter attends Ripon Christian, my enthusiasm goes far beyond those connections. As someone who loves and has spent decades in the performing arts, I can tell you: this production deserves a full house.
These talented students, their incredible director, Wendy Marshall, and the parents and volunteers who poured their hearts into this show have created something truly special. They deserve our applause, our presence, and our support.
You do not need to attend Ripon Christian or even live in Ripon to enjoy this musical. Bring your children, your grandparents, your friends, or make it a date night!
