Alex Collins Jensen, was an incredibly loyal friend and supporter of the arts. Spots loved live shows of all kinds. He did comedy for a while and held the record for the most F-words used at an open mic.
We later found out we had gone to preschool together at Ashland Place.
He was front row when I opened for Josh Johnson at Tipitina's. He helped with maintenance around the theater, barked shows on the street, shared flyers, and constantly spread the word about what we were building at Crescent Theater. More than anything, he wanted to see us succeed.
Spots showed up.
For the arts. For comedy. For his friends.
The Crescent is better because he was part of it, and his impact will live on in every show, every laugh, and every person he helped bring through our doors.
