Get to know our teacher Angela Rayburn!
I was Born and raised in Eastern Kentucky. I lived in Boston for 17 years. We Moved to Mobile because my husband got a job in the Med School at South. We love it here!
How long have you been teaching music?
I’ve been teaching since 1999.
What is your favorite musical, song, or artist?
My favorite classical composer is Chopin. (I’m ashamed to admit I would have been his groupie in 1831.)
What is something fun or surprising about you that our families/students might not know?
I play in a band called the “Aunt Judys”. We’re open to all genres from Punk to Spirituals! We hope to play out sometime soon.
I have two mutts who are my heart.
What’s your favorite part of working with our students?
Where do I begin? Their individual learning styles and unique personalities are endlessly fascinating to me. Every soul has different musical expression inside. Most folks think I have to be lying when I say I have never had a single day when I wasnt excited about seeing a student. But it’s true. I’m lucky to love it so much.
Fun Favorites?
My favorite food is crab legs. My husband and I love to hike.
