Celebrating 80+ years of excellence, Sheffield is Mobile & Baldwin's Most Respected Dance Studio! 11x Nappie Winner. 2026 NYCDA National Outstanding Studio. 2024 National Studio Of The Year - REVEL Dance Convention. 2 Locations - West Mobile & Daphne. Convention. Founded in 1943 by Mary Lou Sheffield-Noletto, the studio has grown from a small one room facility to a state of the art studio with Three Locations through the Mobile/Baldwin Metro Area serving over 500 students. We are thrilled to offer classes at our West Mobile studio, Dauphin/Rickarby (Midtown), St. Dominic Catholic School and at our NEW Eastern Shore - Daphne location for our 2025-26 season. Today, the studio offers nearly 75 classes a week, and is recognized nationally and internationally for excellence in technique, choreography and explosive performances.

The studio’s faculty is comprised of 11 teachers, all of whom have trained extensively and present their material in the most positive and professional manner possible. Our Family Based Business is of the 2nd & 3rd Generation, carrying on Ms. Our faculty’s Credits and Honors include Mary Lou Sheffield- Noletto Day in the City of Mobile, Professional Ballet & Jazz Companies, Jazz Dance World Congress, Walt Disney Entertainment, Radio City Music Hall, JUMP Dance Convention Faculty, Tremaine National Dance Teacher of the Year, National & International Choreography Awards, Crash Dance Productions, The Academy Awards, and International Master Teaching across the United States, Canada, Central America & Europe. All ages and levels are taught from Age 3 thru Adults, and Beginner thru Pre- Pro Level Classes. The very best in Ballet/Pointe, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap, and Acro is offered!

It has been said that “Dance Training is Life Training”, and we are very proud of the Sheffield Legacy that carries through our alumni. Our students have been accepted into prestigious college dance programs including The Juilliard School, PACE University, Florida State University, Oklahoma City University, The University of Southern Mississippi, The University of Alabama and more. Our alumni have gone on to Major Dance Careers in Tony Award Winning Broadway Shows, Television, Film, The Radio City Rockettes, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Houston Ballet, Cirque du Soleil, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Tokyo Disney, Saturday Night Live, MTV Video Music Awards, America’s Got Talent, Miss America Finalists, National Commercials for Walmart, T-Mobile, Old Navy and performances with major recording artists including Usher, Justin Timberlake, Paula Abdul, LeAnn Rimes, Camila Cabello and more! NYCDA NATIONAL OUTSTANDING STUDIO! 🏆

Last night will go down in our studio history books. An incredible 8 days of NYCDA Nationals that wrapped with one iconic moment at the Closing Gala — hearing our name called by the legendary Joe Lanteri for the biggest honor of the week.

Returning to the NYCDA Nationals stage for the first time in many years, we set a goal: to present a repertoire of unforgettable performances worthy of being considered for this prestigious honor. An entire year of planning, creativity, choreography, and thousands of rehearsal hours led to this moment. Just one month before Nationals, we made the bold decision to reshape our repertoire — removing pieces, subbing in previously existing routines, adding two brand-new works, all the while embracing an ambitious challenge. Every single dancer rose to the occasion and delivered in our final preparation phase inside the studio for 10 amazing days of Nationals prep.

To our dancers — YOU DID IT! Your versatility across 5 genres, your artistry, your professionalism, and your commitment to excellence were recognized on one of the biggest stages in the dance world. Every Sheffield Dancer, young to old, played a part in this incredible achievement, and this moment belongs to all of you! ✨

To our directors and faculty, thank you for pouring your hearts into every rehearsal, every detail, every dancer. Your passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to the Sheffield Legacy continue to shape generations of artists, and this honor is a reflection of your dedication.

To our Sheffield families and alumni, thank you for believing in our vision and supporting these dancers every step of the way. This award represents more than one incredible week — it represents generations of excellence, a tradition built over decades, and Miss Mary Lou’s legacy that continues forward.

FOUR for 4! ⚡️We are absolutely ecstatic to have 4 routines vying for the National Critic’s Choice Award at Nationals! Our teens and seniors delivered another stellar set of performances, sweeping 7 Platinum Awards, 8 Top 5 National High Score Awards + “RE-HYPED” (Teen Hip Hop) and “BLACKBIRD” (Senior Specialty) advancing to the Closing Gala! Sheffield was also named the “National Class Act Studio” for true professionalism on stage. Once again, congratulations to our fabulous Sheffield Dancers! ❤️

A huge sweep of 6 Platinum Awards, 9 Top 3 National High Score placements including 5 National 1st Overall High Score Awards. “Dance Romance” (Mini Jazz) and “Rhapsody Within” (Junior Ballet) have advanced to the Gala to vie for National Critic’s Choice Award!
