I just watched somebody slurp down 55 raw oysters in under ONE MINUTE. 😳🦪

FIFTY. FIVE.

Now y’all know Granny loves an oyster…

…but I generally prefer mine empty, washed, decoupaged, covered in resin, and selling for $30. 😂

All I could think while watching this was:

Bless his heart. And his stomach. And whatever poor soul has to share a bathroom with him later. 😬

And while the rest of y’all are probably thinking, “How in the world did he eat 55 oysters that fast?!”

Granny is over here doing shell math:

I’m tweaking them a little this morning because apparently I’m incapable of leaving well enough alone. 🤷‍♀️😂

And OF COURSE there will be rhinestones! ✨💎 Because Dolly loved her bling… and so does Granny. I don’t leave home without my sparkles! 😂✨ Just ask my daughter ! 😏

🦪 TIPS & TRICKS TUESDAY — The “Well, That Wasn’t Supposed to Happen” Edition 🤦‍♀️😂

A lot of us use resin — UV or A/B mix — to get that gorgeous, glassy finish on our decoupaged shells.

Which normally means:

Decoupage the image.
Wait for it to dry. ⏰
Maybe add another layer of decoupage medium
Wait to dry again
THEN add the resin.
Wait some more.

Wellllll… this morning I was putting resin on approximately 999 shells.
Okay, fine. It was about a dozen. But it FELT like 999. 😂

And I accidentally squirted a big ol’ blob of resin right onto a shell that had a cut out tissue paper image sitting on it that I HAD NOT EVEN DECOUPAGED YET. 🤦‍♀️

My first thought: Well, crap. There goes that one.
My second thought ?
Ehhh… let’s see what happens. 😏

So, wearing gloves, I carefully lifted the image with tweezers, spread the resin blob underneath, laid the image back down, gently patted it into place with my gloved finger, then spread a light coat of resin over the top. I stuck it out in the sunshine and hoped for the best. 🤞☀️

AND IT WORKED !!

Well, VIOLA! 😂

Did Granny just accidentally discover a way to skip the decoupage step AND the drying time?!?! Because if this keeps working, my little crafting accident may have opened up a whole new can of worms.

Imagine doing vendor events and being able to make almost instant custom shells right there. I could bring extra images with me… and if I get REALLY froggy, I could even haul my printer along and print custom images on request. 😳😂

Customer: “Could you make me one with this picture?”

Me: “Give Granny a few minutes.” 😎🦪

Now, before everybody goes resin-ing naked tissue paper onto 47 shells because I said so — EXPERIMENT FIRST. 😂 Different papers, inks and resins may behave differently, and I’m still playing with this myself.

But today’s crafting lesson is:

Before you throw away a mistake… mess with it first. You might accidentally invent something. 🤣

And THAT, my friends, is how Tips & Tricks Tuesday sometimes happens around here ! 🥴

Not through skill.
Not through careful planning.
But through “OH CRAP… well, let’s see what happens.” 😂🦪

🚨 SCAMMER WALL OF SHAME — EPISODE 2 🚨

Well, y’all… apparently I’m getting better at this. 😂

Today’s potential customer came all the way from Poland 🇵🇱 with 2 friends, 0 posts, and an urgent need to get one of my custom creations “home as soon as possible.”

Nothing suspicious here. Carry on. 😇

So being the sweet, trusting Southern granny that I am, I answered the questions and even asked what color and style they wanted.

And then…

THEY BLOCKED ME. 🤣🤣🤣

Excuse me, sir… ma’am… Ada… whoever you are…

THAT IS NOT HOW THIS WORKS.

I’m supposed to figure out you’re a scammer, waste a little of YOUR time for my own entertainment, and then I block YOU.

The absolute NERVE of stealing my thunder. 😂

Apparently my fat-thumb “Etsy” typo instead of “what color” was the final straw. Maybe scammers have standards. 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, Ada has earned a place of honor on the It’s a Shore Thing Scammer Wall of Shame. 🏆🐚

Bless their little internationally confused heart. 😇

Gotta love it when one of your favorite customers loves a design so much she says, “Yep… I’ll take ALL of ’em!” 😂❤️

And just like that, the inventory goes from “Look how prepared I am for Christmas!” to “Well dang… back to the workbench.” 🤦‍♀️🤣

Not complaining one little bit, though! There are definitely worse problems to have. 🥰🎄🐚

Time to crank up the Christmas music, fire up the new printer, and make MORE!
