10/9/26 The Badlander

Frequency Expeditions is back with some super exciting news!! We launched this residency to go deeper than your average dance party, showcasing the electronic genres that shaped the underground and the DJs in our community who play them with passion.

For the next handful of shows, we’re shifting the focus to the Montana DJ crews that shape our diverse community. These are the teams behind the scenes keeping the fire burning bright, from the longest-running legends to the freshest crews on the block: the sound system heads, Burners, ravers, and club kids holding down the fort right now.

This month we’re spotlighting Funktionality Presents! Jaxon Maier They’re a local production company that owns and operates a world-class Funktion-One sound system. Their mission is for culture, music, and art to Funktion as One, blending sound system culture and community to bring all walks of life together. Past events include the Missoula Pride afterparty at Monk’s Bar, festivals like Cloverfield and Lovers and Lunatics, and a campout at Legacy Bike Park. Their love for club nights, raves, and campouts runs deep.

Quadratic Spheres -- formerly Saganist -- has been giving the gift of techno to Montanans for a decade. Hailing from Great Falls and now operating out of Missoula, Quadratic Spheres is a multifaceted artist within the Montana music scene. Drawing inspiration from his roots in the punk and metal scenes, he masterfully blends techno and trance into a psychedelic expression that is instantly recognizable among ravers across the state.

A founder of Grease Camp: 2012, Quadratic Spheres has also made appearances at Shine, Montana Magic, Crystal Mountain, and an uncountable number of house parties and bars. When he is behind the decks, you can always expect good music, good friends, and good vibes.

Origninally from Colorado, now operating in Missoula, FUNKSHUI has been Djing for nearly a decade in clubs and festivals all across Montana. Driven to give back to the community that shaped him, his passion culminated in organizing 'Cloverfield'; a festival project that debuted this past summer.
