That’s a wrap, folks! 🎀 From our Educational Outreach Tour, JabberDoggy (and Other Made-up Words), to Plays on Tap – Lost & Found at the Missoula Art Museum, to Say Gay Plays in support of The Center, to the world premiere of Can’t Drink Salt Water by Kendra Mylnechuk Potter, to our First Reads Series at Missoula Public Library ... the 2025-2026 season was truly amazing.

Thank you to our community of artists, our incredible patrons and individual donors, our community partners, and our campus partners — UM School of Theatre and Dance and UM Co-Lab for Civic Imagination. And thanks to our sponsors and season funders – Northwestern Energy, our Pick-What-You-Pay Sponsor; Blackfoot Communications, our Educational Outreach Tour Sponsor; Montana Arts Council; The Shubert Foundation, The Agnes Ranjo Capps Memorial Fund, and The Roy Cockrum Foundation. We couldn’t do it without you.

Thank you. We are so grateful to do this work. Keep your eyes out for our 2026-2027 season, to be announced August 1st!

Thank you to all who attended our final First Reads of 2026, and our season finale – Hotdish, by Paul W. Kruse! It was so awesome to see such a full audience for this special reading and Q&A with the playwright, Paul, who flew in from Minnesota for the occasion. 🎉 And thank you, always, to our amazing partner in presenting the First Reads Series – your internationally award-winning Missoula Public Library!

🐝❤️ We’d also love to publicly thank everyone who generously donated to Montana Repertory Theatre during Missoula Gives this year, or who gave at First Reads, or supported us at any point throughout the season. You help us continue our mission to bring powerful, relevant, modern theatre to the people of Missoula and Montana. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

Rehearsals with the AMAZING cast of Hotdish, by Paul W. Kruse, are a blast! 🎉 Paul, the playwright, who joined the fun via Zoom, will also be at the reading this Saturday, and will offer a Q&A after the performance.

Don't miss the final First Reads and our season finale, this Saturday, May 2, at 2 PM (doors at 1:30 PM) at Missoula Public Library. Admission is free, and so are the snacks. Donations are always welcome, though, especially right now – it's Missoula Gives y'all! ❤️🐝

First Reads is a staged reading series focused on new works, presented by Montana Repertory Theatre in partnership with Missoula Public Library.

During the 2025-2026 season, The Rep brought educational theatre to over 6,000 students across the state, hired dozens of local actors, technicians, and designers, and gave free and discounted tickets to hundreds of patrons. None of this would be possible without the support of our community, so please, consider a gift to The Rep during Missoula Gives, and help us continue to bring superior storytelling to audiences under the Big Sky.

Announcing the spectacular cast of Hotdish, by Paul W. Kruse – Saturday, May 2, at 2 PM (doors at 1:30 PM), in the Cooper Room at Missoula Public Library (4th Floor). Free admission. And featuring a special Q&A with the playwright after the performance!

Salina Chatlain as Jesus H. Christ/Mary Jean
Carrie Collier as Our Ladies of Tupperware, Silverware, and Memory Care
Courtney Davis as Mary Ellen
Marie Fahlgren as Mary Catherine
Rosie Hallett as Diane
Liz Moisan as Joanne
Kendra Mylnechuk Potter as Marianne
Ann Peacock as Maryjo

Not even an untimely death can keep Maryjo from Barbara Anne’s potluck. Little do these women know, they are about to be the victims of a multi-level marketing pitch from the Virgin Mary herself.

Hotdish is a surreal comedy that explores the complex matrix of social, emotional, and spiritual acrobatics that make-up the life — and death — of a group of women living in the Upper Midwest.
