Free Cycles invites you to join us for the 11th Annual Tweed Ride, with a Twist!

By joining this family friendly DIY ride, you will be safely supporting the community bike shop from afar while still having a wonderful excuse to wear tweed, drink tea, and ride bicycles. Proceeds from this virtual fundraiser will help us continue to provide bicycles, parts, and help for a healthy community.

Here's how it works:
1. Choose your registration at www.freecycles.org/missoulatweedride *Those who are lacking financial freedom are still encouraged to partake in the ride.

2. Throw on your finest tweed apparel and hop on your cruiser to ride the Tweed Ride route (found on our Facebook event discussion board) or your own route some time during the 4th weekend of October (October 23rd-25th)!

3. Be sure to document your ride, and submit your favorite pictures to our FB event page, Instagram (), or via email to [email protected]. We will be awarding prizes for the following categories the following week: Best Bike, Best Dressed, Best 'Stache, Best Doo, and Best Mask! Use the or and tag throughout your rides!

The 10th Annual Tweed Ride is Sunday, October 20th, 2019
Over 100 riders will take to the streets and trails in the heart of Missoula on a beautiful fall day…dressing in tweed, pedaling their cycles, and drinking tea. The Tweed Ride is all about having fun, raising awareness for bicycle riding, and raising funds to help keep the Free Cycles community bike shop remain open and strong.

Over 100 riders will take to the streets and trails in the heart of Missoula on a beautiful fall day…having fun, raising awareness for bicycle riding, and raising funds to help keep the Free Cycles community bike shop remain free, open and strong. A combination of sponsors, donations and the silent auction bring in the bulk of the funds. We look forward to seeing you at the 9th annual Tweed Ride on Sunday, October 21st, 2018!

Schedule: Come to the bike shop at 1pm. Socialize and drink tea, listen to sweet street tunes. Ride leaves at 1:30 for a 5 mile loop, with tea stops downtown and in Greenough Park. We’ll arrive back at Free Cycles around 3:30 for more tunes, best of contests, good food and drink and games galore…

It's official . . . we are so incredibly thankful for a community that has supported us through this entire process. We can officially call the place that has been our home for the past 12 years our home. We look forward to all the immense potential that the future holds.

Free Cycles Missoula, the city's community bicycle shop, has successfully obtained financing to secure its longtime home on South First Street West.
