We excited to highlight Cameron Klise in our artist spotlight this week. Cameron is a local Missoula artist and musician. He has been in two of our group exhibits with his works “Terrace,” 2022 (shown here) and “Sugarloaf,” 2021. For more info, check out our website.

Cameron Klise is a Missoula-based artist whose work with painting typically involves depicting mountainous landscapes that are composed digitally by collaging additional photographic elements to the scene. After the final composition is complete, the image is vectorized so as to give the work an impressionistic feel. Vectorization also allows the image to be projected to scale and re-created with acrylic paint on panels.

“Terrace” is a panoramic shot that was taken at a lake in the Mission Mountains while on a backpacking trip during the summer of 2019. It encapsulates the artist’s experience of bearing witness to the beauty of the wilderness in Montana.
