[9:00 AM | 5/19/26] The latest severe weather outlook has been updated. The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting strong/severe thunderstorms across west and central Texas tonight.
A weak cold front will aid thunderstorm growth. Some storms could form across the Sierra Madre (mountains in Mexico), and move through South Texas, and perhaps the RGV. The biggest threats will be strong winds up to 60 mph with the strongest storms. Hail and torrential rainfall will also be possible.
Stay weather aware tonight.
