"A bit about me" continued...
One of my proudest accomplishments came during my senior year of high school, when my duet partner and I became National Champions with our duet, “The Chain.” After graduating high school in May 2017, I took a short break from dance and joined the MSU Cheer Team. However, it didn't take long for me to realize just how much I missed dance. In January 2018, I returned to The Dance Company of Minot, this time as a dance instructor.
Since then, I have had the opportunity to teach dancers of all ages and experience levels. I have taught recreational, competitive, technique, and adult classes, and I truly love being able to watch dancers grow both inside and outside of the studio.
In 2022, I took another break from dance for a season to pursue my other passion—teaching in the classroom. I spent three years at Sunnyside Elementary School, where I taught first grade for two years and second grade for one year. Although I loved teaching in the classroom, after just a year, I found my way back to the studio. I started teaching at Magic City Dance Company. What can I say, I just couldn't stay away!
Since returning, I have loved being able to pursue both of my passions: teaching in the classroom and teaching dance. There is something so special about helping students build confidence, discover their strengths, and develop a love for what they do.
In April 2025, I welcomed my greatest little adventure yet—my son! I took a leave of absence from school to stay home with him, and he quickly became my little assistant at the studio. He spent last year coming along with me and is still known to make an appearance every once in a while. Watching him grow while continuing to do something I love has been such a special experience.
I am incredibly grateful for all of the experiences, teachers, teammates, students, and families that have shaped my journey. Dance has been such a huge part of my life, and I feel so lucky to now have the opportunity to share that love and passion with the next generation of dancers.
