MJones Artwork and Batik

MJones Artwork and Batik I am a Wisconsin based artist, making and selling batik artwork using colored wax and dye on fabric. What is a batik?

I am a retired art teacher and now have my own art business making batiks and other artwork. Traditionally, it's an art piece made on fabric, using dyes and wax to create resists and crackling effects. I use colored waxes to obtain my colors and then dip in dye to get the final crackling look. It is my creative passion, and I am grateful to have the time to work on my art in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin!

Touched by Gold — Original Batik by Mary Jones

This batik stops you in your tracks!

Soft, neutral tones create a calm, earthy rhythm… and then those unexpected flashes of gold leaves pull you right back in. It’s subtle, striking, and full of that signature Mary Jones magic.

See this stunning piece in person at **Arts in Hand Gallery** and let the gold catch your eye.

We are open Monday through Saturday from 10a-5p and Sunday from 11a-3p.

Although this mixed media batik did not make it into a recent show I entered, I still really love it. Everywhere I go, I see and feel Mother Nature’s presence and appreciate “Her Many Gifts.”
