Painted onsite, en plein air, in the Texas Hill Country, featuring Blue Bonnets. It was here that Reid crossed a barb wire fence to stand in a dry creekbed. From a distance, he heard a truck door slam. Then he heard the "Click Click" of a rifle loading. It was a shock to see the rifle pointed at him when he dared to turn around, an angry rancher standing behid him. Although Reid had trespassed, it was one of many times he converted an angry rancher into an ardent art fan with his genuine appreciation of the beautiful scene.

Mountain Lake 2

This piece was created 'en plein air' onsite in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. Reid loved painting onsite, enjoying the mountain air and rich scenery. He was fascinated with trying to capture the transparency of the water over the rocks. He loved the challenge of trying to layer paint with the infusion of light and refelction.
