We want to take a moment to share some difficult news with you. After much consideration and with a heavy heart, we have decided that our display will not be returning this year. Due to the damage sustained and out of respect for our community, we've made this tough choice.
Setting up the display takes over a week, and with Halloween just around the corner, we simply cannot make it happen this year. We deeply appreciate your understanding and support during this time. We hope to come back stronger than ever with a spectacular Halloween display next year!

Now that all of our preparations are in place we wanted to take a moment and update the community. Due to the unexpected weather circumstances surrounding Hurricane Milton, we will be canceling the display until further notice.
Your safety is our top priority, and we encourage everyone to take the necessary precautions as we prepare for the storm. Please stay safe, stay informed, and look out for one another during this time. We will be broadcasting our weather radio instead of our show audio. If you are extremely close and without a weather radio, tune into 97.1FM.
We appreciate your understanding and support, and we hope to see you again soon when things settle down. Wishing everyone the best as we weather this storm together!

We wanted to keep you updated on the current status of Blackwood Mortuary as we navigate the uncertainty of the approaching storms.

Right now, we’ve entered “B” mode, which means that while our display is still illuminated and operational, we are running with minimal props to ensure safety and limit strenuous prep if the storm shifts. We’re committed to providing a spooky experience, but we also prioritize the safety of our guests and neighbors during these unpredictable weather conditions.

As the storms approach, we may be forced to transition into “C” mode (cancelled). This means that all effects will be disabled and the mortuary will temporarily close until it’s safe to reopen. We’re keeping a close eye on the forecasts and will keep you updated on any changes. For anyone planning on visiting; we recommend waiting until the display is fully operational again next week.
