We welcome audience favorite Tara Lucchino back to the nimbus stage as Annabella Milbanke, mother of Ada Lovelace. Annabella was the most central figure in Ada's life. After a turbulent relationship with the poet Lord Byron, she raised Ada by herself, never remarrying. A fierce feminist, educated mathematician, and progressive activist, she raised Ada to be educated in math and science rather than the traditional skills taught to women at the time. Find out more about Tara and her character in our stories later today!

Ada Lovelace coined the term "poetical science" to describe her approach to mathematics, which blended analytical rigor with imagination and metaphor. Perhaps it was this approach that allowed her to see a future no one else could comprehend.
