Jacob Baker is a native Nova Scotian who grew up along its beautiful South Shore. He is completely self-taught as an artist, with much of his earlier work revealing intricately detailed, realistic graphite drawings of life along the shores of Nova Scotia. His work reflects an intuitive understanding and respect for the beauty within the materials he works with, including stone, wood, glass and gra

phite. Jacob’s sculpture is functional and organic in nature, a tangible reminder of our connection with the power and beauty of the elements surrounding us. He enjoys discovering materials that are interesting to the eye and takes great pleasure in releasing the individuality found within each of those materials, bringing to light their potential in completely original designs.
