LOFTrecital is an artistic experience dedicated to promoting a wide range of musical repertoire, curating both rare and acclaimed works for an engaged and curious audience. Presented in an intimate and inviting social environment, LOFTrecital encourages the unique connection between artist and audience while cultivating a diverse community that hungers for artistic excellence. After 9 wonderful years, Bergen and I have made the decision to close this chapter of LOFTrecital. Korngold 2.0 will be our final LOFT performance for the foreseeable future. From little gatherings in our home, with shared wine and an Ina Garten buffet, to 100-person gatherings with some of the best musicians, chefs, bartenders, and sommeliers in the country. We started out with the simple mission of sharing beautiful, thought-provoking music, paired with curated food and beverages. What we got was an amazing community of hungry (intellectually and physically) individuals who we have come to know and love as our LOFTfamily. Come out for one last program, one last bite, and one last drink as we bring the curtain down on this amazing journey.

We liked it so much, we're doing it twice! We loved the music of our NYEGala so much we thought it would be the perfect program for our first in-person performance in TWO YEARS!!! LOFTrecital closes out our Power in Limitations season the same way we started it, with the beautiful music of Erich Korngold, paired with the classic dishes of chef Jamie Malone.

A leading producer of Twin Cities recital programming, James Barnett is dedicated to bringing new and forgotten music to the next generation of audiences. He has been a featured pianist with many companies and academic institutions across the country, including the Des Moines Metro Opera , Minnesota Opera, the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Lakes Area Music Festival, Fargo-Moorhead Opera, The University of Minnesota, Grand Valley State University, Up North Vocal Institute, and OperaNEO. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Minnesota.
