This Thursday and Friday, May 28 and 29, Principal Timpani Erich Rieppel performs Andy Akiho’s Timpani Concerto, a work we co-commissioned with the Houston Symphony. Domingo Hindoyan also leads the Minnesota Orchestra in works by Adolphus Hailstork and César Franck.

The Minnesota Orchestra family is so saddened to hear of the loss of tenor Limmie Pulliam. We were lucky to have Limmie join us last season for Turandot in concert in the role of Calàf—his performance of Nessun dorma was a season highlight for many of us.

Pulliam attended Oberlin Conservatory alongside MinnOrch musicians Kevin Watkins, Julie Gramolini-Williams and former MinnOrch musician Sam Bergman. "He was an amazing talent who had a huge heart," Gramolini-Williams noted. "I loved reconnecting with him after so many years."

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and loved ones at this time. We are grateful to have shared the stage with such an incredible artist.
