I feel that an improvised approach to my paintings leads to new and exciting scenes that flow from inside my soul, out though the brush and onto the canvas. Teaching myself techniques of my own through trial and error over my journey with painting I have developed a style that is distinctly my own. The flow of energy and vibration is a recurring theme throughout my abstract pieces. Drawing upon the ideas of solids not truly being solid at the quantum level, I create pieces that take the form of membranes holding each other together and sometimes creating images that come from of the viewer’s own perception. Also influencing the images I create are other mediums such as lamp work glass pieces and stained glass panels. Bright colors, high contrast, and bold lines give way to dramatic design. The beauty of landscapes also has a large draw on my creative output. I use this to bring to life the fantasized cityscapes and landscapes of my dreams. Florescent sunsets, floating cities on the edge of the world, and uninhabited mountains and valleys are places of which I escape to in moments of losing myself to imagination. I invite others to come into these landscapes and allow themselves to leave reality behind for a few moments.
