Yo! People! Yup, that’s you! Thank you! Thank you for an incredible summer of art fairs. From Scottsdale to Colorado to Oconomowok, casual passers by, appreciators, first time buyers, collectors, friends new and old and fellow artist friends, new and old… it was a blast and I appreciate you all! Today’s fair closes out an amazing run of 15 shows? And the end of the outdoor season. One more indoor fair in Chicago, I think? My art, and my vocation as an artist, wouldn’t be worth much if it weren’t for those who share in it with me. Thank you! And hope to see you at the Rogue Buddha Gallery this fall and winter.

Quick note on the 31 Nights of Halloween nightly offerings…

I’m taking a quick break from spooky season to take part in the City of Lakes Art Fair this weekend! The paintbrushes will be sitting quiet tonight and Sunday, but fret not, like any good haunt, the story and artwork haven’t disappeared. They’ll be back before you know it. Mark your calendars for Monday at 9 PM for a spooky triple header!

Tonight’s offering is inspired by the name of the town in our story which we learn is called Grimm’s Grove. This is of course an homage to the Brothers Grimm.
This piece in particular is a bit of a play on words/concepts. The Grimm brothers were Jacob and Wilhelm. Completely unrelated, but fitting, is a term called the Wilhelm Scream, which refers to a famous scream in cinematic history, a sound bite that is often placed in films as a bit of an ongoing insider joke. This scream appears in over 400 films including Star Wars, the Indiana Jones Series and Lord of the Rings to name but a few.
