Last summer, my dear sister-in-law Pearl developed facial paralysis and pain. After an initial diagnosis of Bell’s palsy, her symptoms worsened. Last month, an MRI revealed a 1.6 cm tumor on her temporal bone that had been missed on the first scans.
She is scheduled for surgery on June 15 through the U of M, followed by further treatment. Due to the delayed diagnosis, she has missed significant work, is currently working part-time, and will need 6–8 weeks to recover.
Medical bills are already really piling up, and while insurance and FMLA do help, additional support is needed during the long summer facing us. We’re hoping to raise $20,000 to cover medical and living expenses for Pearl during her recovery.
There is a link in my bio for Pearl’s GoFundMe. Any support or sharing means so much to us! Please reach out to Elise or I with any other questions or support. Pearl does an immense amount of work in her community and throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area, and she needs us now more than ever to give back. Thank you SO much for reading ♥️
