Ukrainian-born artist Elena Kalman returns to The Museum of Russian Art following Ukraine Defiant, her exhibition sparked by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Her new exhibition, Paintings by Elena Kalman: Catastrophe and What Survives, presents recent works created during a time of war and global uncertainty. Through landscapes, roads, and imagined environments marked by instability, Kalman explores the tension between catastrophe and continuity, and the forces that endure beyond every crisis.

🏳️‍🌈The Ballets Russes transformed the cultural world of the early twentieth century through movement, music, design, and fearless artistic experimentation.

Led by impresario Sergei Diaghilev and shaped by legendary performers including Vaslav Nijinsky, the company helped redefine modern art while creating space for bold new forms of expression and identity.

This Pride Month, TMORA celebrates the LGBTQ+ artists and creative communities who have shaped cultural history, affirms our support for LGBTQ+ people everywhere, and welcomes all visitors to our museum and community. We believe the arts should remain a space for visibility, individuality, curiosity, and belonging. 🏳️‍🌈
