It’s happening! Loading into the theater today for Rhythmically Speaking ‘s EIGHTEENTH annual Summer show. The weekend’s weather is shaping up to be jungle swamp hot rain nasty, so there’s no better way to beat the heat than to COME TO THE SHOW!

I came to Rhythmically Speaking rehearsal today with two options for shoes, and I’m leaving with only one!

I’ve had these jazz sneakers since high school (which was . . . a TIME ago, shall we say?), and honestly, I’ve probably only worn them a handful of times since. I should have expected the heels to CRUMBLE. APART. when I put them on today.

Looks like it’s well past time for a new pair!

I’m so thrilled about how my new piece for my company Rhythmically Speaking has turned out. Building it has definitely challenged me - I have actually NEVER used large pieces of moving props/ set in my over 20 years of choreographing concert dance works, and I really enjoyed the creation process. The product is pretty good too! I hope you’ll come check it out today, folks :)

This past week, I got to start in on a new creative process with a group of people I truly love. Any time I get to spend in the studio with them is a gift! We’re working on a new piece for the show this 7/30 - 8/1 at the , exploring physical and mental time travel.

I’ve had to do a LOT of academic research to dive in, and frankly, it’s been a joy to immerse myself in academic writing that’s NOT about dance. It’s been a long time since I’ve done that, and it’s been FASCINATING!

TC/ MN folk, I hope you’ll join us at the show to experience the end result! We’re only one out of five weeks in, and I’m already having a blast creating this new piece :)

While I miss it, I very rarely teach public classes these days due to overlapping commitments, so TC dancers, if you are available and wanna get your groove on this afternoon, class runs 3:30-5pm at .
