Blackbird Revolt

Blackbird Revolt Promoting social change through conscious creativity. MSP-based, Black q***r woman owned The idea to form a company came about in Fall of 2016.

Influenced by artists and activists, we founded Blackbird Revolt because we felt compelled to engage our community through art and design. We noticed the continued lack of representation and the intentional exclusion of diverse voices from the dominant narrative. We are an alternative to that exclusion. At Blackbird Revolt, we acts as a platform for conscious creatives looking to transform our com

munities. We want to find ways to support the causes we care about, while providing opportunities for others to do the same. Through design, and other forms of art, we aim to inspire people to engage in activism and movement work. Blackbird Revolt aspires to break the social & political barriers that keep us caged. Our designs go beyond media and apparel, we find creative solutions to help challenge the way people move through the world.

Quarterly Qritique Returns!

At Blackbird Revolt, we believe great design should be accessible even if you don’t have a full design team.

That’s why we created Quarterly Qritiques, a space where community partners, grassroots organizations, self-taught designers, and changemakers can receive professional design feedback to strengthen their work.

Bring a design you're currently working on, whether it's in Canva or another platform, and receive live feedback from our Creative Director, Dr. Terresa Hardaway.

We can review:
• Social media graphics
• Posters & flyers
• Signage
• Apparel designs
• Grant proposal visuals

⚠️ Quarterly Qritiques are exclusively available to paid Patreon members.

We’re proud to highlight our collaboration with the Legal Rights Center () on the branding and design for the new First Defense Hotline, a free, 24/7 legal resource serving Hennepin County residents.

Everyone deserves access to legal support the moment they need it most. The First Defense Hotline expands access to early-stage representation for people who cannot afford an attorney, ensuring community members know their rights and are not navigating the first hours after an arrest alone.

If you or a loved one has been arrested in Hennepin County, call 612-200-0844 within the first few hours to receive a free visit from a volunteer attorney through the hotline.

Honored to help craft branding for a resource rooted in protection, access, and community defense.

✨ Throwing it back to last year's Juneteenth celebration! ✨

Last year, we gathered in community to celebrate Black Freedom, Black Joy, Black History, and Black Futures as we honored the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth with mural making, pre-gaming, art making, and being in community.

As we look ahead to this year's Juneteenth festivities, we're carrying that same energy of joy, community, and collective freedom with us.

Were you there? Drop your favorite memory from last year's celebration below! 👇🏾

People fear us. They fear their neighbors, their community members, they fear kids. This fear, concocted by systems of oppression, kills us. It devastates our communities and creates generational trauma.

We will never find justice in systems that would see us perish. It all has to go, for Cyrus and so many others.
