The Igbo culture is strong. This is one of the reasons Igbos always want to visit home every celebration. Celebrations are times to rest from working all year and time for re-union.. Igbo Kweenu. Tell us your village and how you celebrate Xmas in your village.

Do you know about Agwu in Igbo tradition?

In Igbo tradition or culture, Agwu is the Igbo patron deity just like there are patron saints in the Christian religious tradition.

Agwu is in charge of health and divination. Agwu stands in Igbo culture as the controller and determinant of the principles of good and evil otherwise known as morals.

To explain health and sickness, fortune and misfortune in Igbo culture, our traditionalists usually implore the help of Agwu.

Most communities had some people possessed by Agwu who were considered victims of its malignant powers or recipients of its positive influences, such as priest-diviners and physicians.

What have you been told about Agwu?
