hi, i’m rue.
if you’re new here—welcome.
if you’ve been around—hiii. so glad you’re here.
i’m an artist. i love to paint. i also enjoy tea, dancing, and making music when i’m not buried in a canvas.
i grew up homeschooled. from a young age, i was obsessed with kandinsky and pretty much ignored math in favor of folding origami, making things in my room, and reading books. for a long time, i felt directionless—so i tried everything. then, i found painting.
and with painting came peace--the kind that comes from really devoting yourself to seeing something through, chasing color and from slowing down.
at the end of july, i’m releasing Genesis—my first painting series. it’s about beginnings, endings, and the quiet space in between. i can’t wait to share it with you.

and no, i don’t do origami anymore.
but yes, i still stare at kandinsky.
