Just a few spots left for my annual weeklong painting retreat, Abstraction From Nature, held in the Founders Studio at Grand Marais Art Colony in Minnesota on Lake Superior’s northshore. Join us Monday, June 2 to Friday, June 6, 9AM to 4 PM, with open studio access after hours. This immersive, collaborative course is designed for experienced painters interested in deepening their connection to the language and process of painting. Together, we’ll explore discernment, intuition and intention through every stage of making.

Our March 20th ArtStat Event & Artist Talk at University of Minnesota’s Mill City Clinic has been CANCELED. The exhibition, Tracing Light, featuring Donna Bruni, Paintings and Samuel Johnson, Pottery is temporarily closed. A new date will be announced soon. We appreciate your patience and look forward to celebrating art in the healing environment with you at the rescheduled event later this Spring.

Join Me for “Abstraction From Nature” at Grand Marais Art Colony! Discernment is the theme, as we embrace connections between nature and abstraction in my upcoming studio class at Grand Marais Art Colony. Through guided exercises, color exploration, and intuitive mark-making, we’ll translate the essence of the landscape into expressive abstract compositions.

This immersive class is perfect for painters looking to deepen their understanding of form, light, scale, pattern and texture while developing a personal visual language.

Excited to present our Fall ArtStat exhibition at UM Physicians Mill City Clinic in Minneapolis.

Sculpture by Kim Matthews and textile art by Tim Harding Studio activate the medical clinic with vibrant, thought-provoking works that evoke imagination, sense of wonder, meaning and connections.
