Two things can be true at the same time.

A false allegation is wrong.
And untreated trauma is dangerous.

When pain is not processed, it does not disappear.
It looks for expression.

Sometimes it expresses itself through silence.
Sometimes through addiction.
Sometimes through self-harm.
And sometimes through destructive decisions that affect others.

Accountability matters.

But so does mental health.

Not every dramatic act is rooted in wickedness.
Some are rooted in brokenness.

That does not excuse the harm caused.
But it reminds us that prevention is always better than public collapse.

Young people dealing with compounded grief, substance abuse and self-harm need intervention; not just interrogation.

Because when trauma is ignored, it does not stay private.

It spills.

And when it spills, everyone is affected.

At what point should society move from outrage to intervention?

When a young girl loses her father…
then loses her brother…

At 18, the brain is still developing. Emotional regulation is still forming. Identity is still under construction. Now imagine that same mind trying to survive:

That is trauma layered upon trauma.

TRAUMA DOES NOT ALWAYS CRY QUIETLY

When someone says:

“I cut myself so I can be fine.”
“I just want to die.”
“I am tired of living.”

Those are not casual statements.

Self-injury is often not about attention.
It can be about control.

When emotional pain feels overwhelming and invisible, some people convert it into physical pain - because physical pain feels tangible. Measurable. Manageable.

It becomes a coping mechanism - a harmful one - but a coping mechanism nonetheless.

SUBSTANCE USE AS SEDATION
Insomnia.
Alcohol.
Codeine.

This combination is not random rebellion.

It is often an attempt to quiet a racing mind.

Trauma survivors frequently struggle with sleep. Thoughts replay. Memories intrude. Silence becomes loud.

Substances can numb the mind temporarily.
But they also distort judgment, memory, and perception.

What begins as escape can become escalation.

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF FABRICATION
Now we address the difficult part.

When someone fabricates a dramatic event, psychology often considers:
• A deep need to be seen
• A subconscious cry for intervention
• Internal chaos projected outward
• Emotional pain seeking a narrative

This does not justify the lie.

But sometimes, when internal suffering feels unbearable, the mind creates an external crisis that matches the internal storm.

It is dysfunction; but dysfunction rooted in distress.

PUBLIC PRESSURE & SHAME
When someone already unstable is questioned publicly about their sexuality, habits or personal struggles, shame intensifies.

And shame is powerful.

It can either push someone toward accountability or deeper into psychological collapse.

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION
We are not diagnosing.
We are not excusing.
We are not defending false allegations.

We are analyzing behavior through a human lens.

There is a difference.

This story is no longer just about a lie.

It is about:

Untreated trauma.
Unresolved grief.
Self-harm behavior.
Substance dependency.
And a young mind trying to survive emotional collapse without guidance.

When trauma is untreated, it does not disappear.

It’s such a beautiful thing to see peace reign between Tonto and her son’s father after almost 10 years of bitterness, anger, pain, hurt and betrayal.
I’m happy that she let Go and let God. Churchill might have been a bad husband to Tonto but he deserves the opportunity to prove himself to his son - whether as a good father or a bad father!
The son also deserves to know if his father is a good man or not. Too many times, a lot women bleed their pain, anger and unresolved trauma into thier kids, thereby passing the cycle of pain and trauma from generation to generation.
Thank God Tonto broke this cycle. I hope Andre and his dad can catch up on the time they lost.
