ā™»ļøUp-Cycled/Thrifted Dyed Pieces. Hi Friend! My name is Miriam and Iā€™m a professional violinist and tie-dye artist.

Iā€™m also a former orchestra director but I gave up that lifestyle to live a slower, healthier life and to be able to spend more time with my daughter and husband. Iā€™ve always loved Tie-Dye as a kid and began my journey with tie-dye projects in my teens. During Covid I looked for activities to do at home with my daughter, and I experimented with Ice-Dye. We had so much fun and I began to experiment

with different folds and techniques. Through word of mouth I began receiving commissioned shirts to dye, and eventually I opened my business. At the end of 2021. Iā€™m also a professional violinist and served in our Public School systems for 11 years, 10 of those as a High School Orchestra Director. It was a full schedule -with early morning rehearsals and evening rehearsals or performances. In 2018 for the sake of my health I left my post and became a free-range musician. Iā€™ve also been teaching violin for more that 20 years, and still teach private lessons today. I also play in an all-female quartet named the Ta-Ta Quartet. We live in a CoHousing Community in Minneapolis, Minnesota where we share Community responsibilities and also live amongst other musicians and artists. (We arenā€™t an artist community, we just happen to have other artists here.) Iā€™m grateful for being able to have space to work on all my creative projects, and I value living in a community that encourages small artists to thrive.
