3 New Exhibits! Praxis Gallery • Opening Reception

An opening night reception on November 16, 6-8PM celebrates the debut of two new exhibitions at Praxis Gallery & Photographic Arts Center in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis.

The exhibitions will be on display from November 16 - December 14, 2024.

Gallery 1: EMPTY PLACES : ABANDONED SPACES
Praxis Gallery presents photographic art that explores the visual and social significance of what is left behind, in which crumbling factories, derelict churches, private homes, and other empty places serve as the basis for creative investigation.

Gallery 2: HOME
The notion of home transcends conventional meanings and interpretations. Beyond its physical manifestation as a shelter, home unfolds as a dynamic concept that resonates across the human experience. Praxis Gallery presents photographic art that explores the idea, space, or memory of home.

Gallery 3: ONE CENTURY
Praxis Gallery presents “ONE CENTURY,” a new exhibit by award-winning documentary photographer Valérie Jardin, celebrating the lives of centenarians and the activities that bring them joy.

Join in the Twin Cities Pride WEave-athon! Weave the day (and night!) away!!!!

Location: Twin Cities Maker (aka The Hack Factory) 3119 E 26th St, Minneapolis, MN 55406.

End Time: Sunday, June 30th at 10:12am

That's right – 26.2 hours straight (or should we say q***r?). We’ll wrap up just in time for you to head over to the Minneapolis Pride Parade

Twin Cities Maker is a non-profit community made up of artists and makers. They have tools and equipment on-site, along with other resources to help people learn and create. Twin Cities Maker is entirely volunteer run.

In celebration of Pride, the members of Twin City Maker invite Weavers Guild members to join them at their space on Saturday June 29. You can weave on a large community project, work on your own take home piece, or bring your own project to work on. Weaving starts on 10am on Saturday June 29 and continues through the night before wrapping up in time to watch Sunday's Pride parade. More info at

Join us for snacks, swag, and an incredible 26.2 HOURS of weaving. We’ll be collaborating on a large piece, and there will be smaller looms available for you to try. No weaving experience is necessary – just come and weave a bit of yourself into the fabric of TCM.

Great exhibit - fun to see the different techniques that are used to create some amazing art. I have a Deflected Double weave wool scarf in the show. Come on down.

More than 35 objects represent the creative efforts of members of the Weavers Guild of Minnesota, spanning from utilitarian items like rugs and towels to samplers and explorations in tapestry, puppetry, historic techniques, and more.
