Thank you so much for joining us yesterday for Give to the MAX 2025. We raised $925 and we are so so grateful for your support!

There’s still time to make a gift of any amount before the end of the year to help us reach our goal of $9,000 to support hiring additional festival staff and funding filmmakers travel and lodging.

If you’re interested in monthly giving, please consider supporting our Patreon Cutie Tip Jar for $5 a month. It supports our longevity, opportunity for growth, and belief in the value of our mission to increase access to Q***r films! It is also a space where we can host a Community group chat to connect with fellow film lovers, and you can vote in polls on future programming ideas!

Our current programming is dependent on the grant support we receive from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council. Every year we feel increased confidence in the applications we submit but there is never a guarantee that we will again be awarded our funding.

This is always scary as without these funds there cannot be a festival. Individual donations and Patreon membership are two ways we can build more security to continue returning each year.

With that being said, I would like to share a recent update about our monthly Q***r Gaze series at Emagine Willow Creek. After three terrific years of partnership it has been decided that our December 14th screening of SAVING FACE will be the last for this program. We are truly grateful for the space and opportunity the Emagine team has provided us and the year-round connection to folks. I hope you are able to join us that Sunday to pack the house at this last screening. Tickets are on sale now!

We are beginning to brainstorm how we can continue to meet up monthly to enjoy Q***r films and have begun to schedule meetings with other Q***r orgs and space to make plans for next year. For at least a little bit our Q***r Gaze series will be on hiatus. Here’s how the our $9K goal breaks down:

$5,000 - Hiring Additional Festival Staff in 2026!
These funds will increase the funding of our staff budget to support us hiring an Events Manager and a Social Media Manager.

$2,500 – Filmmaker Hospitality!
These funds will support our ability to bring filmmakers to FSF by providing them with travel and hotel support.

$1,500 – Filmmaker Screening Fees!
We pay our feature filmmakers AND our short filmmakers. This is a surprisingly uncommon practice at festivals! Help us keep our program robust and our filmmakers paid. Just like it should be!
