This month at I’ve been a featured artist, what an honor it has been! In addition, last week I had the opportunity to give a talk alongside MY MOM (!), Dr. Belynda Tse, about Self Care and Pottery, which we are also teaching a workshop this weekend (sadly it’s full but there IS another class in the spring- so sign up now before it sells out!) And I’ve also been teaching adult wheel throwing classes!
NCC has always been a special place for me, it’s where I also work behind the scenes as Outreach Grants Coordinator and Donor Stewardship, where I’m able to help give back to the community and provide those with opportunities to work with clay.
There’s nothing quite like the fulfilling feeling of being able to utilize an organization to the fullest! So really- THANK YOU, NCC, for allowing me to be a part of so much, it truly fills my cup (ceramic cup that is 😘)
This year has been heavy to say the least and I haven’t wanted to post on here (other than stories) in order to give space and focus on what’s been happening in Minnesota with ICE. Though something that I do believe is art is resistance, it’s a release and it is healing. It’s important for everyone to also take care of themselves, and find moments of joy through tough times, it’s what keeps us going. I’ve witnessed this through students and makers and felt this kind of support at NCC. Minnesotans are resilient and I’ve been so proud of my community and seeing those sticking up for neighbors.
I make because it makes me happy and hope that it brings joy to others 🤍
