ANCESTORS RISING // MAPPING BLACK JOY

Yo I wish I could tell you how much joy this project is giving me—but ya’ll just gonna have to get use to me posting about it for the next two weeks until you can experience it for yourself!!

These are photos from the last time we did the production featuring over 20 interdisciplinary artists telling a story of healing and transformation.

This time we have even more surprises, including the immersive afrofuturistic play July 21 & 22 plus the launch of a new project from the Healing Justice Foundation with a community conversation and interactive art installation on July 23.

RADICAL JOY SESSION 2022

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we’ve produced a series of virtual concert experiences centering joy and well-being called the Radical Joy Sessions.

…And guess what? We back!! We’re thrilled to announce we’ll be releasing one of our best productions yet in February for Black History Month. Black joy. Black love. Black liberation.

My newest music project, SHOW UP, drops this Saturday, Juneteenth, and I can’t possibly be more excited!

I collaborated with some of my absolute favorite artists to bring you the dopest, multi-genre experience that you can come back to again and again for a radical reminder of what it means to show up unapologetically, authentically, and fully present in this moment.

That’s a big part of what the Radical Joy Session - Spring 2021 is about.

This virtual concert experience is filmed at the gorgeous, historic Southern Theater and features a dozen interdisciplinary artists committed to cultivating resilience and well-being.
