Minerva's Oktoberfest is held annually the last Saturday in September. In 2014 it will be Saturday, Sept. 27, noon-9 p.m., in Municipal Park. This year's bands, sponsored by Frontier Communications, will be Rock Salt & Nails, Around the Block, and The Juke Hounds. Sweet Sounds by Leasure will also provide music throughout the day. There will be a wide variety of kids' activities, including a child

ren's art area, sponsored by Minerva Area Federal Credit Union, pumpkin painting provided by Great Trail Care Center, bounce house provided by Three Sons' Hardware, pumpkin bowling, a free hayride, a petting zoo, and more. Contests for adults and kids will include the scarecrow contest, Dress Your Dog contest, beer stein holding contest (at the halftime of the OSU game), pie-baking contest, and sack race. The festival will kick off with Great Trail Care Center's Alzheimer's Association fundraiser fun walk at 11 a.m. There will also be food vendors, crafters, and more. The Minerva Athletic Boosters will host a beer garden, Friday, Sept. 26, 7 p.m.-1 a.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-1 a.m. Oktoberfest takes place the same time as the Minerva Stockers & Streeters On the Bricks Car Show, noon-4 p.m., and National Alpaca Farm Days at Natural Approach Farm Store, 3944 Whitacre Ave. For more information, call 330-868-7979, or email [email protected].

We are excited to announce a great lineup of live music for Minerva's Oktoberfest & Lost French Gold Craft Beer Motherlode on Saturday, Sept. 28, in Municipal Park! The Black Diamond Band will kick off the event at 11:30 a.m., playing polkas! The Gordon Band will take the stage at 2 p.m., followed by White Buffalo Woman at 5 p.m. Admission to the festival is free!

Check out everything happening in Minerva this weekend! The Minerva Ohio Stockers and Streeters Car Club will hold its annual On the Bricks Car Show, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29 & 30, noon-4 pm; and Alpaca Spring Valley Farm Store will celebrate National Alpaca Farm Days Saturday and Sunday, 10 am-4 pm. You'll want to plan to have a meal or two at Minerva's Oktoberfest, this Saturday, Sept. 29, noon-7pm, in Municipal Park, because there will be some great food vendors on site! Options will include the Kishman's IGA Smokehouse, Italian breads, focaccia, butters and more from Dolci d'Italia, The Beach Bum Truck, Candlelight Catering, French fries, lemonade, French waffles and more! Have a beer with your meal in the Minerva Athletic Booster Club's beer garden, serving Budweiser products and showing football games all day! Mark your calendar now for Minerva's ninth annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 29, and plan to participate in some of the contests for all ages that will take place! The Dress Your Dog contest will take place at 4 pm, and the beer-stein holding contest at 4:30 pm. Pies for the pie-baking contest should be submitted by noon. Sack races will take place at 2:30 pm. Scarecrows for the Scarecrows in the Park contest should be set up Friday evening, 5-7 pm. For more information about any of these, contact the Chamber office, 330-868-7979 or [email protected].

Our Story

Minerva's Oktoberfest is held annually the last Saturday in September. In 2019 it will be Saturday, Sept. 28, noon-7 p.m., in Municipal Park. This year's bands will be the Black Diamond Band, playing polkas 11:30 am-1 pm and sponsored by The Hart Mansion Restaurant, the Willis Gordon Band, 2-4 pm, and White Buffalo Woman, 5-7 pm. The Lost French Golf Craft Beer Motherlode returns, featuring 17 of the region’s finest craft breweries, offering tastes of some of their brews. Presale tickets are $30 and include 10 5-ounce samples, a glass, and a guide to the breweries, and are available at the Chamber office or on www.eventbrite.com. Tickets will be $35 at the gate. Participating breweries are: Akronym Brewing, Canton Brewing Co., Clubhouse Brewing Co., Headtrip Brewery, HiHo Brewing Co., Hoodletown Brewery, Lockport Brewery, Magic City Brewing Co., Maize Valley Craft Brewery, Millersburg Brewing Co., Modern Methods Brewing Co., Muskellunge Brewing Co., Paradigm Shift Brewing Co., Royal Docks Brewing Co., Sandy Springs Brewing Co., Shale Brewing Co., and Unhitched Brewery.
