It has been a while since I posted any updates, and I humbly apologize. I really do appreciate the patience and cool-ness of those who pre-ordered the Outrider. There's multiple reasons why it's taking this long, but none of it is your fault, it's all on me. So I have bad-ish news and good news:

The Bad-ish news: Then Outrider is still delayed. One of the hull parts just absolutely refuses to print, and it looks like the file will have to be built from scratch, or really repaired. That part, and the cockpit front and top "glass" are the only parts left to be finished and printed. After that, it's straight production. Again, no one more than me is frustrated and anxious to get this ball rolling, it's going to be gorgeous. Pictures are of a good hull print(The top front hull) and the corrupted file (Lower front hull.)

The good-ish news: In the meantime, I've been working on other projects, and next week, I'll have a new kit ready for sale! I know it's kind of do***ey to release another kit when I still have open orders, but I can't hold onto it while the Outrider waits. No pre-order, it'll be shipped out right when I get back from Wonderfest. I ****MIGHT*** even have a few advanced copies at the show! I'll make that a separate post from this one.

Again, my apologies and thanks for your patience.

Here's a bummer post: and I hate to show a little inside baseball, but here we are: Outrider sales are abysmal. For my #1 most requested kit since 2015, I thought it would be more popular. At this point after release, I was projecting at least 25-30 sales. I needed 26 to break even on the project. Right now, almost 2 months since the release announcement, I'm sitting at... 7. Nick and I are EXTREMELY under water on this project, and frankly, it's disappointing. I've refused paying commission jobs to produce this kit, and have invested pretty much everything to get this off the ground so far. Nick has spent countless hours designing and modifying files as well, and neither of us have made a penny. So please, even if you can't/won't buy this kit, I ask humbly if you could just share the original release post, help us get the word out.

I understand about the current state with the shutdown and your hard-earned money and all, but .JPG Productions has survived for 18+ years now, through the 2008-2009 recession, the Pandemic, and other economic fluctuations. I've consistently tried to put out a quality product at a reasonable price, I never gouge or inflate prices. And I've never raised prices on my offerings to correspond to the market after initial release (pre-order specials are not counted, I'm talking regular retail pricing.) I've survived on word-of-mouth, and great customer service. Sure, I'm sometimes late on delivery (who isn't) but I always come through, even surpassing what I promise. And I always will try to do so. So will I continue to offer my own kits? After not being able to sell my #1 requested kit, I honestly don't know. My bread and butter is commission casting for other companies, and my 3D printing business. Right now I'm sitting on 5-6 masters for future release, but they are small, "filler" kits when commission casting gets slow. I have zero plans for another "big" release. I will be casting/printing until I go to the grave or AI finds a way to replace me, so I'm not going anywhere, but the .JPG brand might go to strictly behind the scenes. It's what pays the rent right now. I am typing this not to guilt you into buying my kits, but I've always been open and transparent with everyone (to a fault sometimes) so please don't take this wrong. So if you are struggling and cannot buy from me, I fully understand. I do NOT want your Ramen money. I DO want your Starbucks money. So like I said above, you're doom scrolling anyway, so why not throw a share of my page in your groups. I really appreciate it.

Update on the 1:72 Outrider : More parts pics! Turret tunnel with gun wells. The "grid" spine will be solid now, so you can't see into the "innards" of the kit if you light it up. The engine exhaust grills came out gorgeous, and the exhaust greeblies will pop a little bit more as they are now a separate piece. Top front main hull is on the printer today/tonight! Finally getting to the big parts!

Of course, getting a little behind on production, but parts are coming off the printer looking gorgeous, thanks to the talents of Nicholas Sagan. We are now up to over 150 parts, going to be a blend of cast resin and 3D prints. Figuring out tolerances and fitting is a daunting task, but we want to get it right before sending out parts.

Also, and here's the bummer, and I hate to show a little inside baseball, but here we are: Sales are abysmal. For my #1 most requested kit, I thought it would be more popular. More Test prints of more 1:72 Outrider parts: The main engine thruster! Most of the smaller parts and greeblies have been supported and tested, and Nick is working diligently on fixing/sizing them. Getting a little behind on the timeline, but we really want to get this right before making mistakes in production.

Pictured is the 1:72 part compared with the clear blue 1:144 part. The 1:72 engine will be cast in regular resin, but for an additional $20, it can be printed/cast in a clear/blue tinted resin for lighting. I have to charge this because of the extra cost of resin and severe additional time for resin curing. ***If you have already pre-ordered the kit and would like yours in clear blue, send me a message, I'll comp it for you since you're so cool! If I get more orders before the end of the month, I might do the same for you. It depends on the quantity of orders I get!***

Test prints of more 1:72 Outrider parts: OMG this thing is going to be big and glorious! Nick is really outdoing himself on this, working tirelessly.

Pics included are color-corresponding to the pics in red squares. The smaller prints are for size comparison to my smaller 1:144 Outrider.

Attention to detail:

The landing gear bay doors almost all look alike, and it will be VERY easy to confuse where they go. So I devised a sub-assembly guide to help with that. Each gear bay door parts will be grouped together (open and closed option) and laid out on the 3D printed plate. You can tell by the way the supports are oriented what goes where(see pic 2.) This should help when you assemble the kit. The tanks (you only need 4 for the kit, but they are small and easily lost, so I included extras) go inside the gear bays themselves for detail.

Quick update on the upcoming 1:72 Outrider:

Here's some pics of the parts coming right off of the printer, still wet! One is the landing/boarding ramp closed. The rest are the rear of the cockpit tube, and the cockpit back wall. Look at the size difference between my 1:144 and 1:72 cockpit back wall! Gonna be YUGE and gorgeous! More pics later.
