Today’s sentencing brings a measure of accountability, but it can never erase the pain caused by the tragic loss of Police Officer Patricia Espinosa.
Patricia was a dedicated police officer, a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend who was taken from us far too soon by the reckless decision to drive while intoxicated. No sentence can ever restore what her family, friends, and fellow officers have lost.
On behalf of the Nassau County PBA, we continue to stand with Patricia’s family, her loved ones, and her coworkers as they carry on without her. We hope today’s outcome provides some small measure of closure, while reminding everyone that the devastating consequences of impaired driving are permanent.
Patricia’s service, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
