Hey everybody! ! just launched a kickstarter for my newest adventure, The Morse Code Podcast. If you have two minutes, I'd love it if watched this video I made. My head is part of the video. I am using the mouth part of the head to explain the why I'm doing this and what the money is for. link in comments below.
The MCP is a weekly podcast featuring longform conversations with successful entrepreneurially-minded indie creatives in music, film, and writing.
It will be available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, RSS, and on multi-camera video format via YouTube.
It’s called The Morse Code Podcast because, in its focus on indie creators, it’s kind of the real-world analogue to the fiction we made in the narrative TV Show.
The question asked in the Morse Code TV show is this: how do you make a life as an independent artist, and what are you willing to sacrifice for it?
I am surrounded by hundreds of talented people in my community who are answering that question for themselves, people who have built and sustained a niche for their unique, sometimes fringe perspective. I want to talk with them, find out what’s going on.
I can't do anything without doing it all the way. A lot of planning has gone into the program and release schedule. And the money I'm raising - $14, 738 - is all going directly to two things: paying the small team (my producer Kyle and the the social media coordinator we're hiring) and assembling a few more pieces of needed gear.
In the spirit of transparency I just posted a spreadsheet of all my anticipated expenses for the first year of the podcast. There are 10 reward levels. From simple shout outs to custom-written songs (in time for Christmas). You can even sit in and watch a Morse Code podcast taping go down live and in person from my studio in Nashville.
I even created a brand new Baby Jack T Shirt, featuring the official MCP tripod creature.
You probably know this, but Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing deal. I don't get any money if I don't hit my goal! If you'd like to help me, click that link in the comments below, or share this post with a sentence about why you believe in my project, or consider matching donations for a day. I just have a few weeks to do this and I need all the help I can get!
